The only thing I do is restart it, but a few minutes later it does the same exact thing! I installed a new chipset and ATI drivers and voilà! Unfortunately, there were filings and such on the hard drive that needed to be recovered, so simply rebuilding from scratch wasn't an option. On the Left Hand Side, select Event Viewer, from there select Windows Logs, in here check the System and Application logs to see if there are any Errors or Warnings. If your system is oem i.e one you have bought from a shop such as a dell, hp or compaq please post the model number. One stick of RAM isn't working so I took it out. The best way (that I know of) to do this is to jot down the exact time when a freeze/crash occurs...
as do any streaming game services like steam or origin where it can auto update. Windows 7 home-built desktop freezes after several minutes, unless in safe mode. Was this the only example of a Starfleet issued hat? Considering the environment, if you have a spare drive, I'd pull that one and apply a fresh image then see what happens. In my particular case the error messages seemed to be related to "something having to do with video".
