Some heavy-duty removable hard drives may even have to be plugged in with a separate power cable before they’ll work. But the same hard drive when I use with old iBook G4 laptop its working. IM using windows but same problem. Much appreciated someone putting in the time and effort to help complete strangers. I do have a USB external drive attached and it works fine. you could try here

Windows 10 External Hard Drive Not Showing Up

I said i needed the data off the disk. But when tried to use last night, it is no longer recognised in Windows. External HDD wouldn't show up but now all is well. it was preformatted to FAT32 system.
