If you plan to do this you'll also need to read up on how to Create and format a hard drive partition. To do so, right-click inside the unallocated space, select New Simple Volume, and go through the wizard to create a new partition. These partitions also WERE visible on my Laptops Vista BEFORE installation of SP1. but the drive itself was absolutely OK.
