This update contains some improvements to Windows Update Client in Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1). why does it not just install the damn update? Trying to fix a problem that doesn't really exist will just create a problem.You can tell if Windows updates are stuck if nothing happens on screen for 3 hours or more. SP1 won't install because my Windows System partition isn't the main partition or something.
Wasted a day and a half letting it search on its own. The newest version can be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/949104 Find your OS, download the package and install it. As for issue 2, that one just requires you to manually install some specific updates which also isn't mentioned here. However, Windows Update issues have frequently plagued Windows 7 over the last year, and this has been particularly troublesome for fresh Windows installs.

You are creating the partition here for the purpose of wiping the HD and marking Active which overcomes certain install failures. A mere reboot was not enough. windows6.1-kb3125574-v4-x64_2dafb1d203c8964239af3048b5dd4b1264cd93b9 so what now? If you dual boot and the MBR of your primary boot device doesn't have the windows bootloader in it the update may not work.
