I'm running Win 7 Ultimate, with the latest version of Windows Essentials 2012. __________________ GIGABYTE GA-H77M-D3H motherboard with i5 quad-core processor, 16 GB DDR3, Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit, Seagate Barracuda, Conclusion: Windows Live Mail itself was not broken, the mail database was not broken, but the .NET 2.0 framework (or parts of it) were corrupt.
Windows Live Mail A Problem Occurred While Trying To Open This Message
I figured the .NET assembly was ngen-ed (precompiled), and that the ngen native image was potentially broken. I've exported all my accounts and emails - do I need to delete WLM and reinstall, or is there possibly an easier way to get this working again? Each attempt is showing the message "a problem occurred while trying to open this message, please try again Hi Alprentice, this problem is all over the internet. I didn't have a single problem with OE in all the years i used it.

Thanks. really works... It seems to have coincided with a windows update but there's no solution so far. Windows Live Mail Cannot Create New Email If I use Chrome, it doesn't happen; however, I prefer 9 because Chrome does not give true colors of things.Anyway, just this evening, I figured out a work around for this.
Live Mail really is the pits & it's about time that Microsoft did something about these problems ie.a 'new' version with the bugs killed off. Loading... Ran it as directed, restarted, tried to open Live mail but got a message to the effect that mailbox data is being used by another program such as a virus scanner.
